Sealcoating FAQs

Why is sealcoating so important?
Not only does sealcoating dramatically improve the appearance of older asphalt, timely sealcoating applied by professionals will help protect your asphalt investment from gasoline, oil or solvent damage, water intrusion, ultraviolet rays and oxidation.

The heavy duty sealcoating products we use are of the highest quality and made from a blend of emulsified high temperature coal tar and selected mineral fillers developed for use as a flexible, tough, and long lasting protective coating for asphalt pavement.  Sealcoat bonds firmly to the surface to provide an even-textured durable coating.  Sealcoating will extend the life of your asphalt and restore the black, “new pavement” look at a fraction of the cost of new pavement.

How often should sealer be applied?
We recommend sealcoat be applied every 2-3 years, depending on traffic conditions.

When should be sealer applied?

Sealer requires warm, dry weather for application.   Temperatures should be 55° F or higher for the sealer to dry and cure.   We recommend staying off sealed areas for 24 hours or more, depending on the outside temperatures, humidity levels, and the amount of shade.

Testimonials What Clients Say

Many thanks to your company for the very gracious handling of a problem we had with a section of the sealcoating that was done last summer on the parsonage driveway here at Emmaus. A bit of that job began to peel and needed to be redone. I am most grateful for how willing your company was to address the situation and correct the problem in a world where problems like this often are a challenge to get rectified, I am thankful for the responsiveness of everyone at Zebra Striping. The larger job done on the church parking lot continues to look great. I am sure that when it comes time to have the parking lot redone, we will be back in touch with you. Again, many thanks. I have been meaning to write to you to let you know of our satisfaction. I have finally gotten to it!
